hmm … why so sensitive? you do your thing, does it really matter what some spiteful people do or say? and do you really think what one says out of spite is gonna affect your reputation in any way?

You’re trying to behave in blog like you speak to the next door friends. This is a common internet newbie mistake.
Communication in Internet is different. How can I be sure that this post was written by Mark Hildreth, and not by anyone from his fan group to make his blog “provocative”? How can you be sure that I’m not the same anonymous (who didn’t believe you’re sincere) whose comment hurt you so much? We both cannot verify each other. In Internet, you’re your words you’re writing. No more, no less.
Benefit – you don’t need to take any actions to support your words. Penalty – none of your words is taken for granted.
I can hardly think about valid example but it seems to me that your voiceover work may be similar. There *are* a few people who wonder what’s the person Mark is who gave the voice to cartoon hero. But I’m sure you know that the *most* of fans are just fine to have their own “imagined Mark”, usually identical to character.
Same here, for all who reads your blog (not mention people you know in person) there is just a Internet version of you. *A few* want to know what’s behind it. The rest will use imagination.
So, prepare yourself for being insulted, not trusted, provocated. As well as to be adored and “agreed for 110%”.
These are two sides of the same coin. Like I’m doing right now, people will talk to their own Mark in their head. That Mark may be *quite* different from the real one.

it is hard but try to ignore people who do that. most of the peeps who come here (from what ive read anyway) seem like pretty decent people and would ignore any muppets deliberatly flaming.
Are you referring to what anonymous said about you wishing joy for others? That was not a very nice thing to say, but don’t let it get under your skin. I don’t think he or she was trying to destroy your reputation, just someone who probably doesn’t have a life. Whenever you put ourself out there you are bound to get critics, just keep doing what you do, you have many more fans than detractors, believe me.
I hope no one took what I wrote as a shot at Mark. I think what he does is fantastic. My comment was meant to encourage Mark to continue on and not worry about what others think. I apologize if I offended anyone. BTW my name real name is Renee.
As my deeply Southern mother used to say: “Let it slide, like water off a duck’s back.” In other words, you have better things to do than to be worried about petty snipping. Those who are close to you — your friends and family — and know you, love you for who you are and what you stand for. If you have that, then you don’t need to worry about nameless and faceless antagonizers.

mark if it was me im very sorry. i didnt mean anything by what i said. but if it wasnt me (which it probably was because i seem to have an accidental talent for insulting people and making things awkward.) just ignore the person that was trying to destroy your image and i really hate to say it and im sorry again if this offends you but try not to get so worked up over things and mention who offended you in a polite way instead of quote, “taking shots from the dark”. You can’t please everyone. Although it’s tempting to try, it’s a recipe for frustration.
I agree it’s hard to know whether it’s really Mark talking to us (or whether it’s the “real” you, if it is). As someone who sometimes works as the voice behind the voice (a ghostwriter), I know it’s fairly common.
But regardless, I like the “you” that shows up here, and the warmth and idealism behind him, and I’d like to keep seeing what you have to say. Don’t be afraid to be real. Ignore the people too busy tearing down to ever build anything of value.

I know that no matter what anyone likes to say, I am a life time fan, and nothing will change that. YOu have some beautiful things to say, and some inspiring questions to ask. If anyone cannot see that then they need to go away. -nods-
