If you're talking about our 'world' as a 'society', then yes it'd be lovely for us all to hone our relationships into beautiful, intersecting forms of love for one another. But our 'world' as a planet doesn't give a stuff for what we're doing. As shown in places such as Haiti - a natural disaster can turn everything on its head. Shame on those that turned a blind eye to a country that was suffering extreme poverty and neglect for so long, and kidding themselves that these people were living a simple, paradisical life of palm trees and beaches, unencumbered by modern society's material ills. Whatever love they had for their fellow man is being severely tested right now. Mark, if an earthquake threw you out on the street right now, in the clothes you stand up in and in bare feet, could you really preserve your (undefined) 'civilized' air? I don't know. It's easy to ruminate in peace and comfort.

um - just a question that popped up while reading your entry:

what do you mean by "love"?

That word is so over-used and it seems to mean different thing to different people, and everyone seems to have different rules on how to love...
Some people even kill or hurt one another out of what they believe as "love"...
sometimes love is used to justify a lot of "crimes"..

so when we talk about a world as a place for "love" - what are we talking about?

just curious, if you're up for it. & haven't discussed it before, what does it mean to you?

Very Nice. I believe the Earth has its own love. Kind of moving when a person thinks about it in this way. As human beings we are still seeking answers on how certain love can be “privative” and “civil” at both at the same time or at different times. While “civilized” can mean a higher meaning.

The Earth is a continuing moving object that revolves around the sun. Yes we all have love however so minuscule compared to the planet own love in terms of sustaining life.

So I believe that if I or “we” can take a page from the planet that we live on then this love can be Universally Earth speaking of course, Love. I mean after all.. “Love is what makes the World go Around”?

I wish we could all just live in peace and love. I wish more people could stop and realize what kind of world we have created for ourselves. It breaks my heart everyday to hear the number of people killed because of hate and violence. I hope and pray that one day humankind will learn to put aside their differences and create a civilized and loving world.

you know this was one of the topics that my friend and i were dicsussing one day...the native american indians had a pretty good idea of owing their respects to the earth mother that embraces every tribe...and by doing so...gave them the will to live their lives in harmony and love...they prospered and lived off the land...we see it as pagan dwellers...a lack of a better word...but i know we don't live in a perfect world...it really is up to us individually to carry out what we decide to do as people who seeded the earth to live by what we do believe in and as much take care of mother earth...with all this spitefulness and terroism...i too believe the earth is a place for love...i would rather live in a world where we are harmonious, loving and peace prevailed...rather than a chaotic world of hatred and deceit...you know i also think if more people prayed to the lord...they'd be better people and find love where they live and feelings of belonging...
